At Ty Eco, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We specialize in next-generation timber frame panels designed to build ultra-energy-efficient, eco-friendly homes.
Our panelised building system has been engineered with sustainability in mind from first principles, considering the entire lifecycle of the building - from the materials we source to the energy performance of the homes and their future recyclability.
Committed to achieving Carbon Net Zero, we carefully select Supply Partners who use renewable materials and employ cutting-edge technologies to minimize environmental impact. By focusing on the whole life and carbon cycle of everything we do, we are paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
Statement of Intent
In 2017, we took a hard look at the UK construction industry - the methods used and the materials relied upon - and realized: there has to be a better way.
Everything was geared towards meeting the bare minimum of Building Regulations, with little thought given to how buildings could be more energy-efficient, more comfortable or their environmental impact. Construction methods were labour-intensive and the materials used were often toxic to produce and dispose of. Shortterm solutions dominated, driven by immediate profitability, with little thought for the future.
At Ty Eco MMC, we aren’t trying to change people’s opinions or lifestyles—we’re offering them something better. Not a niche eco-home made of hay or cutting-edge technology at an unachievable price point, but a house just like what they live in now—only far better. We aim to build to the highest possible standard while driving down costs, sourcing the most sustainable, high-performance materials and merging international best practices with our own knowledge of UK construction.
Our mission is to design and manufacture the most sustainable, energy-efficient, carbon-neutral building system we can, without sacrificing affordability or performance. We also prioritize supporting local supply chains and economies wherever possible. In our journey, we’ve achieved Passive House qualification, sourced state-of-the-art equipment from Sweden, Austria, and Germany, and partnered with the best consultants to deliver a best-in-class product.

Knauf SUPAFIL Max
At Ty Eco, we are proud to incorporate Knauf’s SUPAFIL® Max product into our sustainable timber frame panels. We blow SUPAFIL into our panels in our factory, using the latest technology to ensure a perfect fill at the correct density, every time. SUPAFIL® Max helps us maintain our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Here’s how:
Sustainability & Material Composition
Made from 99% glass, with up to 80% of it recycled.
Reusable and recyclable at the end of a building’s life, reducing waste.
Certified by Eurofins Gold for Indoor Air Quality, rated Green Guide A+, and certified by Blue Angel for low environmental impact.
Environmental Impact
Contributes to energy efficiency, lowering energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions
Highly compressible, allowing for more product per truckload, reducing transportation trips and associated CO2 emissions.
For example, achieving an R=7 value in a 1,000 m² loft requires 2.3 times less transportation CO2 with SUPAFIL® compared to cellulose.
Red List Free & Health Safety
SUPAFIL® is free from harmful substances like formaldehyde or flame retardants.
Independently certified as Red List Free by the International Living Future Institute’s Declare label.
Ensures safer indoor environments by using non-toxic materials.
Thermal Performance
Excellent thermal performance enhances building efficiency, helping to save energy and reduce emissions.
Requires less density than other insulation materials to achieve the same thermal resistance, improving overall material efficiency.

At Tŷ Eco, we have spent over five years in R&D developing a Best in Class ‘next generation’ Timber Frame Building System – the Adra PØ Passive Panel drawing on our decades of experience in the Construction & Manufacture of Engineered Timber industries.

Tŷ Eco use Masonite pre-fabricated Beams in our system as they are tried & tested, reduce waste and provide high quality in industrial production with a machining process precise to 0.2 mm.
Masonite Beams have been manufacturing I-profile beams for more than 40 years. The I-profile means that less material is used compared with solid structural timber, it far more energy-efficient and helps to preserve Swedish forests. Masonite develop these strong, high quality & lightweight beams for‘building systems of the future’ from their factory & forests in Rundvik (Sweden).
Masonite’s Beams have been used in Residential Building of 8 storeys and higher in Sweden and other Nordic countries.

Knauf Insulation is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high quality insulation products & solutions.
Tŷ Eco use the latest technology to factory-fill our TF panels with Knauf’s Supafil Max Frame glass wool insulation at precisely the correct density.
Knauf manufacture Supafil Max from recycled glass in their factory, 40 miles down the road in St. Helens – where they also have an on-site facility to recycle the glass.
Supafil Max offers the best Thermal Resistivity available from a mineral wool insulation (0.033 W/mK @ 300mm deep), it is best in class for slump (read well fans of Cellulose!) and is second only to mineral rock wool for fire safety – however mineral rock cannot be blown (so the fit in voids is not as good) and is nearly twice as heavy.

MEDITE SMARTPLY defines the standard of innovative wood-based panels, they deliver exceptionally engineered products with outstanding sustainability credentials, customer-focused innovation and industry-leading customer service.
SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT is a structural OSB panel with integrated vapour control and air barrier properties for use as structural sheathing in timber frame structures. Airtightness is engineered into the OSB panel substrate, whilst SMARTPLY's in-house speciality surfacing technology provides an integrated vapour barrier with consistently high vapour resistance over the entire surface.
Tŷ Eco use SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT in our panels, as it is unique in the market as one of the few products able to reach Passive House-levels of airtightness in a structural board system – as oppose to membranes which are less durable and prone to installation errors.
